CANSKATE PROGRAMS
Precan Ages 2-5 years old or first time skaters
For children who are younger or first time skaters; the Precan program is a nice introduction to skating.
The program consists of the same elements as the Canskate program, however, children are given more one on one attention, and the skills are taught at a slower pace. With colourful learning tools to keep the program fun and active. When skaters have completed the required precan skills they can transition nicely into the canskate program.
Report Cards are given in December and March
Canskate Program Ages 5-12
This program is created by Skate Canada, and is taught by professional coaches.
It is designed to keep children engaged and consistently moving while they develop basic skating skills. During an ice session skaters will go through warm ups, circuits, group lessons, and engaging games/activities. To keep kids motivated and engaged there are Program Assistants within each group to help guide and encourage skaters as they become more confident in their skills. Report Cards are given in December and March
Pre Juniors Ages 5-12 years old
Pre Juniors are can skaters who have reached a certain level in the program, and show interest in figure skating.
Their lessons will focus more towards figure skating skills, and when they have passed all can skate levels they may join our junior skaters. Report Cards are given in December and March

Power Skating
Pre-Power Skating – Ages 4-6 years old.
Requirement Stage 2 Canskate completed. This is a fun active program where children learn skating skills appropriate for their age in preparation for hockey play and power skating.
Junior Power Skating – Ages 7 years old and up
Students will learn how to do proper crossovers, backward skating, edges, stopping, turning, and improve their stamina. This program focus on teaching Can Power Skate Levels 1 to 4. Skaters use full ice.
Senior Power Skating – Ages 10 and up
This is a High Tempo Class, which focuses on advance edges, quick feet, and puck control, whether you are an advance hockey player or just enjoy the game this program is for you. This program focuses on teaching Can Power Skate Levels 3 to 6
* Full Hockey Gear Including Hockey Stick is Required
STARSKATE PROGRAM
The STARSkate program consists of figure skating skills in four areas – Skating Skills, Ice Dance, Free Skate and Interpretive. Each area is divided into the following levels:
Junior & Junior Plus
These skaters are just moving up from our Canskate program and will begin to work on elements from Star 1. All lessons are group lessons and are included in registration fees. Under the coaches discretion, skaters may be asked to participate in one-on-one lessons in preparation to moving to our Intermediate program. Private (one-on-one) lessons are billed separately to the parent/guardian by the coach.
Intermediate
This session is for skaters working on Star 1 to approximately the Star 3 level. They will receive private lessons as well as group lessons. Group lessons are included in registration fees. Private lessons are billed separately to the parent/guardian by the coach.
Senior
This session is for skaters working on levels from approximately Star 3 to Gold. They will receive private lessons as well as group lessons. Group lessons are included in registration fees. Private lessons are billed separately to the parent/guardian by the coach.
All movement from one level to another is under the coaches discretion and will be communicated with the parents/guardians prior to any changes.

DRESS CODE
Skate Canada Skaters
Boys – Straight-legged stretch pants and waist length top
Girls – Skating outfits – Freeskate skaters wear skating dress or skirt. Stretch pants may be worn but must not hang down or be too wide (as you can trip or catch your skate blades).
Skate Canada Test Days
Boys – The same dress code applies as for practice and lesson days except they should be dark colored pants. Clean skates and Laces.
Girls – Dance and Skills tests a dark colored dress and sweater, with beige tights. Freeskate – pretty colored dress with sequins etc. Clean Skates and Laces.
